With winter approaching and daylight becoming less and less light, adding warm beverages can help ease the transitions our bodies go through during these times. Is there a better feeling than enjoying a warm drink on a cool, crisp fall day and feeling the warmth all over your body?
You may be drawn to all the seasonal drinks and lattes you see at your local coffee shop, knowing that the ingredients won’t make you feel your best. But this is something you can make at home.
Fall is the season for warm drinks like cider, hot chocolate, and of course, lattes! Not a mucus-laced dairy latte or an overly sweet artificial spiced latte, but a very specific latte that comes to mind. It’s one of my favorite lattes, and it’s not pumpkin spice…
Golden Milk Latte combines the warm comfort of a seasonal latte with the amazing health benefits of Golden Milk. This golden turmeric milk latte is quick, easy to make, and very satisfying. Don’t worry, it’s vegan and gluten-free too.
Need a warm refreshment now? Let’s make some latte! Or a latte – sorry beauty, I had to do that. 🙂 I drink warm beverages up to 6 times a day as recommended by my Ayurvedic teacher Dr. Jay to help tone my body during this time!

What is golden milk?
Golden milk is an ancient Ayurvedic drink that has been consumed for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Also called turmeric milk or haldi doodh, golden milk was traditionally made from cow’s milk mixed with warm spices such as turmeric And cinnamon.
Due to its warm blend of spices, golden milk is packed with amazing health and beauty benefits. Some of these include:
- Spices like turmeric, which are full of antioxidants, help protect the body from free radicals that can cause disease
- The spice has an anti-inflammatory effect, which can help keep your joints nice and flexible
- Curcumin, a powerful active compound in turmeric, can help your brain feel focused and focused and improve your mood by promoting the growth of new brain cells.
Fortunately, Golden Milk is just as convenient and nutritious when made with plant milk as it is with cow’s milk!
Wonderful turmeric
Whether you enjoy fresh turmeric or ground turmeric, this beautiful golden root is rich in beneficial compounds that can help you feel beautiful inside and out. No wonder it has been used in food and medicine for thousands of years!
Its active ingredient, curcumin, is a powerful antioxidant. Other studies have found that curcumin can also be helpful in managing arthritis, muscle pain, and even anxiety! (1)
Turmeric can also help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and help protect you from heart disease and stroke. It can also help treat abdominal problems such as indigestion and heartburn.
Other amazing warming spices
Turmeric is just one of many warming spices that can help keep you feeling warm and fuzzy as the days get colder. Warm spices can also help boost blood circulation, making it easier for oxygen and nutrients to nourish you from head to toe!
Other beneficial warm spices include:
- Cinnamon
- Cardamom
- Black pepper
- ginger
- clove
- nutmeg
- Chilis
You can try any combination of these warm spices in your golden milk latte to see which you like best! Just don’t forget the turmeric. 🙂
my darling! Health benefits of this liquid gold
There is much more to honey than sweetness. There are more than three hundred different types of honey, each unique in flavor and color.
Honey is rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Honey also has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial effects. For thousands of years, honey has been used to help treat coughs and illnesses, as well as topically to treat burns and help promote healing.
Honey may also be helpful in treating digestive problems, such as diarrhea associated with gastroenteritis, which is an inflammation of the lining of the intestine.
Is honey vegetarian?
This is a point of contention among many vegans. Many vegans do not consume honey because they avoid all products that come from animals, including insects such as bees. However, other vegetarians will eat honey because bees are beneficial to the environment and necessary to pollinate plants. Without bees, plants cannot grow seeds, flowers, or fruit.
So without bees, we have no food!
So, if you’re opposed to eating honey (or if you don’t like it!) there are alternatives you can try instead. Some of these include:
- Coconut nectar
- maple syrup
- Date syrup
- molasses
- Golden syrup
