French Blond Cocktail – Cookie and Kate

French Blond Cocktail Recipe

Have you ever heard of the French Blonde Cocktail? Me too, until last week! I read that Taylor Swift’s Favorite Cocktail After recently ordering it at a local Kansas City restaurant called RyeAs soon as I saw the ingredients – grapefruit, gin, lily-of-the-valley and elderflower, I knew I had to try it. It’s amazing. The cocktail is well balanced, citrusy and floral, not too strong and not too sweet.

I generally know nothing about popular culture and football, To the point where when my husband came home from a charity event last year and told me he was on a team with Travis Kelce, I was like, “Who is this?” But the funniest thing has happened now that Taylor is dating Travis. Suddenly, I’m fascinated by a couple I’ve never met, interested in football, and wondering, who am I? Am I a Swift fan now?

French Blond Cocktail Ingredients

Maybe it’s because of the close proximity to everything, Like I went to Ray’s, where Taylor Swift is said to have ordered this cocktail! My girlfriend’s mom saw Travis at the Apple Store the other day! My husband said Travis was friendly and great with kids, and the only rumor I’ve heard about Taylor is that she actually very Nice. Maybe because they look like such a great couple, it reminds me of when my husband and I first started dating.

Maybe because I, like all Taylor fans, imagine that maybe we could be friends if we met in real life. How crazy is that? Taylor, we have a cold Lillette in the fridge if you want to come over for a cocktail. I’m really losing my mind right now. Anyway, come on, Chefs!

How to make French blonde cocktail

French Blond Cocktail Ingredients

I’ve searched through all my cocktail books and couldn’t find a recipe for the French Blond Cocktail in any of them. The details are vague, but my understanding is that this mysterious drink actually originates from France. It’s been around since the 1920s (maybe). If you like French Blond Cocktails, here’s the recipe for the French Blond Cocktail. French 75 Or if you’re a fan of bright citrus and gin drinks like the Tom Collins, you should give this one a try.

Here’s what you need to make a great French blonde cocktail (and what you don’t). I’ve tried it in different proportions, and you’ll find my favorite version in the recipe at the bottom of the post.

little white

Lillet, pronounced lee-lay, is a French aperitif wine fortified with a mixture of acidic liqueurs. The original Lillet Blanc is made from a blend of white Bordeaux grapes. Its flavour is difficult to describe, but it has aromas of flowers, candied orange, honey, pine resin and exotic fruits.

advice: Once opened, Lillet should be stored in the refrigerator (same goes for vermouth, since it’s all wine). Lillet can be stored for up to a month. Let me tell you, I accidentally left an open Lillet on the counter for a few days, and it ruined my next French blonde wine! Leftover Lillet can be used to make a nice drink with soda and citrus juice.

grapefruit juice

Fresh grapefruit juice usually gives the best flavor. You can usually squeeze enough juice from a large grapefruit to make two of these cocktails. Grapefruit is in season during the winter, so there are some interesting varieties available now. I tried several, and MeloGold (brand 3152) was great, with a floral, aromatic flavour that pairs well with the gin and elderflower.

red hair french cocktail Make your cocktail using red grapefruit or any other type of red grapefruit, and you’ll end up with a beautiful pink drink called the French Redhead! I loved this option too.

trap

Gene Hendrick is great here. Hendricks Botanical Gin has cucumber and rose flavors that blend well with the other ingredients. You can also use London Dry Gin (I tried Kansas City Reger Gin), but the gin flavor is more pronounced and a bit harsher.

Saint Germain

St. Germain is a beautiful liqueur with a balsam flower flavour. It’s sweet, so a little goes a long way. I don’t keep a lot of liquor, but St. Germain is well worth the space it takes up on my shelf and looks beautiful too. You can also enjoy St. Germain in your own home. Lemon juice and peel

Most French blonde cocktail recipes call for lemon bitters, but fresh lemon juice is much better. Trust me, I’ve tried three different types of bitters, and even one drop dominates the flavor and crushes the subtle botanical notes that make this drink so special.

You will also need a little fresh lemon peel, Which delivers a lot of lemon flavor. The trick is to roll the peel over the cocktail to release the citrus oil directly into the drink, then run it along the rim of the glass to get that lemony aroma in every sip.

The French Blonde is made with grapefruit, gin, Lillet, and St. Germain. Rumored to be Taylor Swift’s favorite cocktail, it has a citrusy, floral flavor. The recipe makes one cocktail; you can double the ingredients and mix two at a time in a large cocktail shaker.

size

ingredients

  • 2 ounces little white
  • 2 ounces grapefruit juice
  • 1 ounce Gin (recommended by Hendrick)
  • ½ ounce Saint Germain (balsam blossom liqueur)
  • 1 teaspoon lemonade
  • 1 A slice of lemon peel

directions

  1. Chill your cocktail glass by filling it to the brim with ice and water, then set the glass aside.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the Lillet, grapefruit juice, gin, St. Germain, and lemon juice. Close the lid tightly and shake for about 20 seconds, or until the outside of the cocktail shaker is completely cold.
  3. Pour the ice water into the glass and shake gently to remove any stubborn water droplets. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Gently roll the lemon peel over the drink to release the oils, then gently drag it over the rim of the glass before dropping it in. Enjoy.
